If you don’t follow me on Instagram you might not have seen that I turned 21 last week! Amongst the celebrations I thought it would be nice to do a blog post where you could get to know be a little bit more so I’m going to answer 21 questions…
- What inspired you to start your blog?
I’d read and admired so many bloggers for a number of years but never thought I could start and write my own. I didn’t know where to start, or think that anyone would even be remotely interested in reading it – but with a little push from one of my best friends I decided to take the plunge and do it just because I wanted to. Now we’re almost a year on and I’m loving it just as much. I’ve met and made so many lovely girls and have gained so much confidence in myself. It’s one of the best thing’s I’ve done.
2. What’s your favourite holiday destination?
I count myself to be incredibly lucky to have been on holiday’s – for me one of the most sentimental places is Fuerteventura. I went with my family a couple of times when I was little and then after a good 8 or so years we went back last September. We’ve already booked to go back this autumn.
3. Are you a dog or a cat person?
Oh my goodness, without a doubt I’m one million percent a dog person. I’m actually scared of cats – some of my friends really enjoy putting their cats on my lap and watching me freak out.
4. What’s your favourite quote?
I have a couple – “Life is tough, but so are you” and “Take the risk or loose the chance”
5. What’s your biggest fear?
Ok. So having thought about this question my answer is pretty deep so I’m keeping it short. There are two things terrify me; firstly death – not actually dying myself, but loosing those I love and care about. Secondly, I’m petrified of not being able to have children. The only thing that stops me from freaking out daily is by telling myself what is meant to be, will be.
6. What app do you use the most?
I’d definitely have to say Instagram. I just really enjoy seeing other peoples content and getting inspiration. It’s also my favourite platform to create content for.
7. Have you ever suffered heartbreak?
I’ve realised that I fall in love hard. So of course I’ve suffered heartbreak before, it absolutely is the worst thing. It’s like the biggest fucking pain and ache you’ve ever known, every time you think you’re fine, you’re not. But like anything, over time things get better and you move on. I’ve learnt that every experience is exactly that, it’s part of me and has shaped me into the person I am now. If you’re dealing with heartbreak right now, YOU GOT THIS.
8. If you could give your younger self some advice, what would you say?
No matter what others might say, do whatever you want to do and make your own choices. At the end of the day it is YOUR life and you are the one who has to live with them.
9. Most embarrassing moment?
Oh god. Unfortunately for me, I seem to be at the centre of many embarrassing moments. For your benefit only I’ll disclose a couple of moments that really are the worst. Event Number 1. I fell backwards and got stuck within the base of a stool in my science class when I was at secondary school. I was so stuck the entire class had gathered to laugh at my misfortune and the teacher had to help me get out. When I see old friends from school it still gets mentioned even now! Event number 2. was more recent;
10. What’s the biggest lie you ever told your parents when growing up?
I honestly have, and always have had, a very honest relationship with my parents; probably more so with my mum. My mum has always drilled it into me that honesty is the best policy AND oh my goodness how could I forget her favourite phrase “mum’s know everything!”. Although, don’t get me wrong of course I used to tell my parents white lies – “I’m just staying at Jasmine’s” reality I was probably going to a ‘gathering’ at a friends or down the beach and having a few drinks. So nothing major!
11. What’re your favourite baby names?
I’ve had a couple of ‘favourite’ names selected for a few years – but I am open to discussion, I’ll give my partner a little bit of a say and hear out their ideas too. I’ve always loved the names Olivia/Oliver, so I’d quite like that to be my firstborn. Some of the other girls names I really like are Sophia, Evie, Darcy and Amelia. I find boys names harder to love but some at the top of my list are Noah and Theo (both of which I know for a fact my boyfriend does not like… so they’re definitely up for debate!).
Side note; Harvey if you’re reading this, don’t freak out, I don’t want babies for a good few years yet.
12. What do you think is your biggest flaw?
I know my biggest flaw is being a controlling, bossy bitch – ask my boyfriend, parents, any friends, relatives or colleagues. I just can’t help myself. Most of the time I’m just trying to help and be organised but lots of the time I’m just being a controlling, bossy bitch.
13. If you could invite four celebrities for dinner, who would you pick?
Zac Efron, Adele, Mary Berry and Mila Kunis – what an odd mix!
14. Is there anything you consider unforgivable?
Cheating on someone is completely unforgivable in my opinion; whether it’s ‘just’ a kiss, a one night stand or a full blown affair. I can’t stress enough, IF YOU NO LONGER LOVE SOMEONE DO THE RESPECTABLE THING AND END THE RELATIONSHIP.
15. Where do you want to travel to next?
I am dying to go on a big adventure/once in a life time trip – I’m currently in the processing of planning this. We’re going to start in Thailand and see where we end up. I’m so excited for 2019.
16. What is your favourite snack?
I’ve discovered the Nakd Bakewell Tart bars and I’m obsessed! I’ve been desperately trying to keep my snacks to fruit or veg so the Nakd bar is my little treat every now and again.
17. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage head-on?
I’m not a confrontational person AT ALL. In fact I will avoid it at all costs.
18. What’s the most surreal moment you’ve ever experienced?
When I was in year 8/9 a school one of my friends was absolutely obsessed and idolised One Direction, particularly Harry Styles. On a whim she’d entered a competition on BBC Radio 1 called Celebrity call back (or something along those lines). She’d entered so many times but didn’t think a thing of it. It was the middle of a science class and her phone rang – it was only flipping Harry Styles. After she’d lost her shit and ran around screaming for 10 minutes there was about 8 of our friendship group sat on the floor, gathered around the phone singing to Harry Styles and having a good chin wag with him. To this day it’s still very odd and surreal! I think she got sent a CD of the recording, Georgia – if you’ve got it we need to listen to it back and laugh at all of our excitement.
19. Stay in or go out?
I’m a home bird. I would always much rather spend the evening in, or go for dinner but then come home again. I’ve never been the ‘party’ girl.
20. One thing you think everyone should do…
Possibly controversial, but I think everyone should be an organ donor. You could save someone’s life. I think the government should adopt an ‘opt-out’ system. If you’re no longer able to use them, someone else in crisis should, in my opinion.
21. What do you want to achieve in the next year?
I want to continue blogging and creating content that I love, continue to meet new people and build new friendships. I would also like to progress within my career and broaden my knowledge and skill set.
I chose these questions from various ‘get to know me’ tags – I think I picked a variety of juicy questions as well as some more random ones. But if there’s anything you’d like to know about me then please leave a comment and ask away or head over to my Instagram and send me a DM or ask me a question on my most recent post, I’d love to answer them!
I hope you’re all enjoying the week of incredible sunshine, it’s about time we had some warmer weather!
