February Favourites

I said it last month and I’ll say it again…WHERE DID FEBRUARY GO? We’ve had snow and up to minus 10 degree temperatures and we’re now back to a slight appearance of spring! I haven’t been up to too much over the last month, in fact it feels like all I’ve done is work and as a result haven’t had any time to blog so it feels really good to finally be writing a post. In my usual monthly favourites style I’m keeping it random.

Throughout February there wasn’t really anything that caught my attention on the TV so I spent my down time catching up on some of my favourite Youtubers. I am absolutely loving Suzie//HelloOctober, I feel like I can really relate to her and her content, she’s absolutely beautiful and doesn’t take life too seriously. Alix//Icovetthee, such a sassy, independent woman with again really relatable videos and I’m very much here for her style. Tess Christine; I’m living the New York dream through her youtube/instagram, she also has the most INSANE fashion content and I really enjoy her travel vlogs.

At the end of the month I went to a bottomless prosecco brunch/bingo event hosted by Brunch Brothers at Proud Cabaret in Brighton with some of my fave Brighton blogger babes. In my classic 20 going on 80 way, of course I was naturally excited for some bingo, so mix that with brunch AND prosecco and you’ve definitely got a winner in my books. We had the best time, there was a DJ playing some of the best ol’classics and some everyone was singing and dancing along after 1 or 2 glasses of bubbles. I would highly recommend trying out this event, maybe for a girl friends birthday or a hen party activity – here’s their website if you fancy checking it out.

Even though I’m a major beauty junkie and LOVE taking the time to do my makeup and testing out new products, over the last month or two I’ve been enjoying wearing no makeup during the week days. I started not wearing makeup to work purely so I could have an extra 15 minutes in bed every morning; but there’s been the added benefits to my skin. My skin, on the whole, has been much clearer and more radiant. I’m able to enjoy putting makeup on more at the weekends and it looks much nicer on my skin. If you can wear no makeup to work for a couple od days of the week, I would definitely give it a go.

However, it wouldn’t be a favourites from me if I didn’t talk about one product I’ve been loving over the last few weeks. When I have been wearing makeup, I’ve been reaching for my Urban Decay Naked 3 palett again – I’m just so drawn to the purple/rose gold tones and find it such an easy pallet to create looks from. Let me know if you’d like a breakdown of my every(weekend) makeup look.

All I’m going to say on this matter is, CRAVINGS. I feel like I’ve just been craving ALL of the sweet and sugary foods I can possibly think of. Any time of day, any day of the week. I’ve been trying really hard to watch how much junk food and sugary snack I’m eating – but it’s really flipping hard when all you want is a big fat doughnut with extra cream and sugar on top. One way I’ve been trying to keep the cravings at bay for a little while is by drinking lots of water and fruit teas – they’re really sweet and fulfil my needs for a little while. One of my faves has been rhubarb or raspberry/vanilla.

As we’re *slowly* moving towards spring it’s almost at that point where you can leave the house with just a jumper or large knitted cardigan in my case – of course only for short outings and at prime heat of the day, we’re still in the UK after all! I’ve recently found this chunky knitted cardigan from ASOS which I love. It’s super cosy and is easy to throw on with any outfit. I’m so excited for spring style trends to start appearing.
