Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the tasting menu launch at Pike&Pine; the alter-ego to a favourite restaurant of mine – RedRoaster… as if I haven’t spoken about them enough. By day it takes the name RedRoaster and serves incredible brunches/lunches and by night it switches up to Pike&Pine serving the most beautiful tasting menu’s that focus on flavour and aesthetics. I’m always going into RedRoaster with Lana so of course we went along to try the tasting menu together.
I hadn’t been to Pike&Pine previously so was very excited to go and see what they had to offer; spoiler – I certainly was not disappointed! We were welcomed with cocktails and canopies – The duck leg wonton, duck granola with sairacha mayo was my favourite along with the fried baby squid.
We then began a seven course tasting menu. Starting with share dishes, then mains followed up by dessert.
PORK BELLY ; Pickled apple, roasted purée, prune
PIKE & PINE ; Coffee espuma, mushroom purée, truffle
STONEBASS ; Ceviche, mango salsa, grapefruit, tapioca crisp
CHICKEN ; Poached/Roast breast, wet polenta, battered leg, truffle
HALIBUT ; Sand carrot, carrot purée, fennel crust
CHOCOLATE ; 63% Cremeaux, cherry sorbet, pistachio paste
LEMON ; Parfait, matcha meringue, green tea, lemon curd
I simply cannot fault the food, the service or the company and I will definitely be re-visiting Pike&Pine. Thank you so much for the invite.
Lots of love
