Birchbox ; A Review

I’ve never subscribed to any of the monthly beauty boxes that are on offer before but I received an email about the September Birchbox in collaboration with Oliver Bonas and thought I’d give it a try. I absolutely love Oliver Bonas and can spend hours scrolling through their website and in store plus I’m always open to trying new beauty products.

With the 50% off promo code sent on the email from Oliver Bonas, the box cost me £7.50! I thought this was a very good price and would have been willing to pay the original price of £12.95. The Birchbox website is easy to navigate and as well as offering the monthly subscription box you can shop the products that have featured in previous boxes – so if you love something, it’s easy to re-purchase.

When you order you automatically receive a confirmation email, and then a following notification email when your box has been dispatched; this did take a couple more days than I anticipated but from the date of placing the order the box was here a week later.

A special feature as part of the collaboration with Oliver Bonas meant I was able to pick the design of my box; out of the two choices I went for the ‘Sass Squad’ print. Each Birchbox contains 5 products, however not every box is the same. On the Birchbox site you can see a selection of products that they’re using that month, from which you get sent five. I really like this concept as it allows you to see some of the products you could receive.

Here are the products I received, I’ve only tried a couple of them so will be sure to let you know if they become a favourite of mine!

  • Polaar ; IcyMagic Instant Eye Contour Energiser
  • Dr. PawPaw ; Original Clear Lip Balm (I’m excited to try this when my lips get chapped from the colder weather!)
  • Manna Kadar ; Fantasy 3-in-1 Blush, Highlighter and Eyeshadow (This is a full size product)
  • Benefit ; They’re Real! Double the Lip in Pink Thrills
  • Sand and Sky ; Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask

In your Birchbox you receive a little booklet with all of the product details and RRP prices for the full size products – you can then decide if you love it enough to re-purchase the full size. In addition, as part of the collaboration with Oliver Bonas they’ve popped in a 15% discount code – I’m excited to use that this weekend!

Have a great weekend everyone,

Lots of Love

Em x
