Beauty Products Worth The Splurge ;

I’m going to jump straight into talking about these six beauty products I think are worth more of a splurge… none of them are ridiculously high end, I’d say more mid market – not drugstore but not on the level of Hourglass/Chanel.

(Shade Light) – £36, Space NK

I can not describe how much I LOVE this product, I’m not the kind of girl for heavy contour but I do like to add a bit of definition to my cheekbones/jawline and contour my nose for a night out. The sculpting powder does this effortlessly, it’s the perfect shade; ashy and not orange at all, not too dark that I look like I’ve drawn army stripes across my face but dark enough to create shadow.  Plus it blends like a dream, what more could you want from a contour powder! I often use it as an eye shadow through my crease to add a bit of definition when I don’t want a heavy eye look. I recommend this product to each and every one of my friends, not one of them has regretted the purchase.

£45, NARS

This is an all in one, easy to travel with, high quality palette from NARS. It has a highlighter, two bronzers (including their iconic Laguna Bronzer) and three blushers. I am a huge fan of every powder in this palette and without question use it every single day. The highlight shade is more of a matte setting powder which works so well as an under eye powder to set concealer and on a day to day basis I use it on my eyes just to even out the skin tone. This was a limited edition palette from their Steven Klein collection two Christmas’ ago, so unfortunately isn’t available to buy now in the same packaging, but can be found on the NARS website HERE. NARS are always releasing similar limited edition palettes as part of a collaboration/seasonal collection; for example their most recent releases are on their website.

£27, Debenhams

I’ve spoken about this little makeup bag gem in a previous post so I won’t drone on again for long, I just couldn’t not include it. I use this primer every day without fail, even if I’m only going to wear a small amount of concealer and powder. I just love the way it makes my skin feel and adds another layer of moisture. It is infused with coconut water, probiotic based ingredients, and skin revivers that work together to enhance the skin’s radiance, promote elasticity and help hydrate while locking my makeup in place. This is a silicone free primer, unlike lots I’ve tried in the past, and I just find the formula works much better for my skin.

Cult Beauty £32 – £34 – Pressed/Liquid

This is a well known ‘cult’ beauty product, I’m a massive fan of both the powder and the liquid shimmering skin perfectors. The pressed powder is so finely milled, unlike lots of other highlighters there are no chunks of shimmer but rather just light reflecting flecks that blend into the rest of your makeup. The liquid perfector is just as gorgeous and gives the skin a lit-from within glow. The combination of the Two Faced Hangover Primer and the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors creates the perfect fresh, dewy summer glow.

(Shade Very Victoria) – £24, Cult Beauty

This is my number one, all time favourite, every day/night out, chuck it in my handbag, apply it without a mirror… lipstick. It’s the ultimate my lips but better shade. A nude, plum, brown shade that works well with any makeup look and outfit. I love the texture of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks; the matte finish is not so matte that it clings to every line and imperfection on the lip and it’s far from drying. It wears amazingly throughout the day and I never end up with that awkward line around the edges after eating or drinking. I can re-apply without a mirror and not be concerned about what it will look like. If you haven’t tried the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick, YOU MUST!

(Shade Vanilla) £23, Space NK

I wouldn’t say I’m high maintenance, however I do use a variety of concealers for a variety of different things, for example; one for covering redness before I apply foundation, one for brightening and concealing my under eye and one for covering up any blemishes and imperfections ~ I mean thinking about it now, I probably am quite high maintenance… but I’ll continue in the vain that I’m not ~ so the concealer we’re shining the lime light on today is The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I use this in the shade vanilla; it matches my complexion perfectly and blends seamlessly into my foundation. The coverage is the selling point for me! It covers blemishes, uneven skin tone, excessive redness and spots with ease. It stays put all day and doesn’t slip and slide around.

I hope you’ve had a fabulous weekend!

Lots of Love

Em x
